9 Reasons Why You Should Be At Church This Sunday

Life can feel rather overwhelming at times, right? Sometimes we just feel like staying home under the nice warm covers while watching YouTube, rather than going out. Just like how we can often feel overwhelmed with the stresses of life, that can sometimes spill over into our Spiritual lives. When we start to feel overwhelmed, then often times, we stop attending any of the extra events in our lives. Church can sometimes get categorized as one of the “extra events.” Do we sometimes feel like we can miss out on Church service here and there just because our life feels unsteady or overwhelming? This week we will look at 9 reason why we should be at the Church building THIS SUNDAY! So if you have found yourself feeling like life is hard right now, then continue reading on.

  1. To Renew Your Commitment To God

    • 2 Corinthians 5:17 - “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.”

  2. To Encourage Others

    • 1 Thessalonians 5:11 - “Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.”

  3. To Show Appreciation For Jesus’ Sacrifice For You

    • Hebrews 12:1-2 - “Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.”

  4. To Serve Others

    • John 13:35 - “By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”

  5. To Learn Valuable Life Skills, And How To Apply Them

    • 2 Timothy 3:16-17 - “All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.”

  6. To Find Purpose In Your Life

    • John 15:5 - “I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.”

  7. To Deepen Your Relationship With God

    • James 4:8 - “Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.”

  8. To Find Support During The Highs And Lows Of Life

    • Hebrews 10:24-25 - “And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.”

  9. To Be An Example To The Next Generations (They Are Watching You)

    • Matthew 5:14-16 - “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.”

Conclusion:

So today, will you let the devil win by staying home from Church services this week? Will you let the hard moments of your life win? Will you let the busyness of life win? Or will you let others who are keep you from coming to Church win? No matter what the circumstance is in your life leading you to feel overwhelmed, don’t let it win!!! Church is where we find community, love, support, belonging, all because of our relationships with God. The only one in life we can truly depend upon is God, so will you choose Him this week? Or will you put off that relationship until another day? Don’t let the devil win this week! BE at the Church building, and BE the encourager for others!!
