8 Ways To Feel God’s Peace In Your Life

Do you ever feel like your life isn’t very peaceful? You hear about peace all of the time, but it just doesn’t seem doable in your own life. This is where many of us find ourselves. But is this how God wants us to live our lives? Can we wake up having peace? Or is it something that we have to grow in? Today, we will cover eight of the ways that we can use to grow in peace. So if you find yourself in a stressful period of your life, then it might be time to work on gaining more of God’s peace through these eight different ways.

  1. Be Less Busy

    • Psalm 46:10 - “Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!”

  2. Pray Constantly

    • Philippians 4:6-7 - “do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

  3. Trust In God’s Plan

    • Isaiah 26:3 - “You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you.”

  4. Be In God’s Word Daily

    • Joshua 1:8 - “This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.”

  5. Forgive Freely

    • Colossians 3:13 - “bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive.”

  6. Live In The Moment (Don’t Worry About The Past Or The Future)

    • Matthew 6:34 - “Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.”

  7. Give Up Control

    • Proverbs 3:5-6 - “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.”

  8. Grow In Humility

    • James 4:6 - “But he gives more grace. Therefore it says, “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.”

Conclusion:

So today, will we continue to live in the not so peaceful world, or will we retrain our minds to FIND God’s peace? Having peace is a choice that we have to make and we have to WORK towards having it. We will not “wake up” one day feeling peaceful, it is something that we have to cultivate in our lives. Will we cultivate it starting today?
