8 Things To Do When Bible Study Feels Like A Chore
Have you ever felt like Bible study has become a chore? Have you ever felt like everyone else around you is way more Spiritual and knowledgeable about The Bible than you are? Being in God’s Word should be exciting and enjoyable. That is why this week we will be looking at 8 things that we can do when Bible study starts to feel like a chore. This week, let’s bring the excitement back into our personal Bible Study.
Switch Up The Way You Study (Try Bible Marking, Journaling, Scripture Writing, Or Listening To The Bible Over Audio)
Psalm 119:97 - “Oh how I love your law! It is my meditation all the day.”
Find Someone To Study With (Meet In Person Or Over The Phone To Talk About Each Chapter You Studied And What You Learned)
Hebrews 10:24 - “And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works,”
Find A New Place To Study (One That You Don’t Use For Work Or Phone Scrolling. It Can Simply Just Be In A Different Room Of The House)
Colossians 3:2 - “Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth.”
Set A Time Each Day For Bible Study (Make Time, And Complete It Before Any Hobbies Or Entertainment)
Psalm 119:164 - “Seven times a day I praise you for your righteous rules.”
Focus On Your Gratitude Towards God (Putting Aside All Negative Feelings)
Philippians 4:6-7 - “do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
Set Small Goals (Start Small, Don’t Worry About How Others Seem More Spiritual)
Proverbs 16:9 - “The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps.”
Celebrate Your Progress (Consistent Bible Study, Prayer, And Growth Should Be Celebrated And Continued!!!)
Galatians 6:9 - “And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.”
Pray For A Love Of Studying God’s Word!!!
2 Timothy 3:16-17 - “All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.”
Conclusion:
So this week, will you continue to let Bible Study feel like a chore? Or will you make the adjustments needed so that Bible Study can start to feel exciting again? We will think of Bible Study in either a positive light or a negative one. Which one will you choose?
