11 Ways To Have God-Centered Ears

Our ears are not just physical instruments, but Spiritual antennas. They allow us to tune into God’s Words and use them to change the frequency of our own hearts. Our ears will naturally gravitate towards the world, but we must train them to be God-centered. Truly listening to God doesn’t even require physical hear. So this week, we will be looking at 11 ways for us to have God-centered ears.

  1. Positive Listening - Choose Encouragement Over Gossip And Slander

    • Philippians 4:8 - “Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.”

  2. Discerning Listening - Test Everything And Avoid Bad Influences

    • 1 Thessalonians 5:21 - “but test everything; hold fast what is good.”

  3. Attentive Listening - Pay Attention To God’s Words

    • John 10:27 - “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.”

  4. Obedient Listening - Apply God’s Words In Your Lives

    • James 1:22 - “But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.”

  5. Compassionate Listening - Look Out For Others And Help Them

    • 1 John 3:17 - “But if anyone has the world’s goods and sees his brother in need, yet closes his heart against him, how does God’s love abide in him?”

  6. Prayerful Listening - Seek God’s Will Before Your Own

    • Jeremiah 33:3 - “Call to me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known.”

  7. Humble Listening - Be Teachable, Not Always Right

    • Proverbs 10:8 - “The wise of heart will receive commandments, but a babbling fool will come to ruin.”

  8. Patient Listening - Avoid Jumping To Judgement

    • James 1:19-20 - “Know this, my beloved brothers: let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger; for the anger of man does not produce the righteousness of God.”

  9. Forgiving Listening - Let Go Of Grudges

    • Matthew 6:12 - “and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.”

  10. Grateful Listening - Express Gratitude For God’s Blessings

    • Psalm 107:1 - “Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever!”

  11. Confident Listening - Trust In God In All Ways

    • Proverbs 3:5-6 - “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.”

Conclusion:

We must train our ears frequency to listen to His Words. This training will require lots of work on our part, because our ears won’t naturally be God-centered. It is incredibly important to retrain our ears. Will you join me this week in tuning our Spiritual antennas to be God-centered ones?
