5 Ways To Deepen Your Prayers
Have you ever gotten into bed at the end of the day, and realized that you haven’t said many prayer to God that day due to being busy? When the realization of this hits, if you are like me, then you have the feeling of guilt start. But why do we have guilt when we know that we haven’t prayed much? As Christians, we know that we are to be in prayer. Prayer is an essential part of the faith walk that we are all on. So how do we get better about remembering and deepening our prayers? Today, I will be giving five different ideas for things we need to do (or pray about) to deepen our prayers. As with anything new in life, we must practice, and our prayers are included with this. So if you find yourself frustrated with your prayers while busy during the holidays, then this article is a great starting point.
Be Consistent In Your Prayers
Mark 1:35 - “In the early morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house, and went away to a secluded place, and was praying there.”
Be Thankful In Your Prayers
Philippians 4:6 - “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.”
Be Reflective Over Your Actions In Your Prayers
2 Corinthians 13:5 - “Test yourselves to see if you are in the faith; examine yourselves! Or do you not recognize this about yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you—unless indeed you fail the test?”
Be Aware Of Distractions In Your Prayers
1 Peter 5:8 - “Be of sober spirit, be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.”
Be Seeking God’s Will In All Your Decisions In Your Prayers
James 1:5 - “But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him.”
Conclusion:
So today, will you commit to spending more time in conversation with God in prayer? Even when we get busy, we must still MAKE time for our relationships with God. Will we work on deepening our prayers, and thus, deepening our relationship with God. Will you join me this week by spending more time in devoted prayer?
