8 Ways To Strengthen Your Family Spiritually

Family is everything! Parents try to give their kids the best of everything that they can. Kids will get rushed from school, to sporting events, to gymnastics, and all before the day ends. We all want a happy, healthy, and strong family! Having a family like that is more than just good school and fun activities. It’s training them to draw on their strength from God and their relationship with Him. Our families can only truly grow in strength when we put our faith first in life. Are we leaving daily time for God? As parents we must first prioritize our own relationships with God. Our relationship with God will overflow into the lives of our kids. So that is why this week, we will look at 8 ways to help strengthen our families Spiritually. Everyday we grow in something. Will it be in the world? Or with God?

  • Memorize Scripture Together

    • Colossians 3:16 - “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.”

  • Daily Bible Time Together

    • Hebrews 4:12 - “For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.”

  • Serving Others Together

    • Matthew 25:40 - “And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’”

  • Pray Daily Together

    • 1 Thessalonians 5:17 - “pray without ceasing,”

  • Attend ALL Church Services Together (Not Just Some)

    • Hebrews 10:25 - “not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.”

  • Talk About Jesus More Than Anything Else Together

    • Mark 12:30 - “And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’”

  • Show Gratitude Towards God Together

    • Colossians 3:17 - “And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.”

  • Fall In Love With God Together

    • Deuteronomy 6:5 - “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might.”

Conclusion:

So today, will your family take the steps they need to for allowing more time for God everyday? Will you train up your children EVERYDAY? Missed services and unopened Bibles will leave a lasting impression on our kids. We must prioritize our faith, and actually show our kids how important God is in our own lives. Will we continue to fill our days so full, that we don’t have time for God? Or will we take our “good intentions” and turn them into daily focused actions to grow in our faith? Our kids get strengthened in something every single day, will it be in the world or with God?
